Big Trucks Galore!

The county puts on a Big Truck Day each spring that is FREE to the public and gives you the chance to climb on, in, and around trucks that are used in the community every day. We decided to go this year with Steve, Ali, and Maisie, and it was definitely a hit with the kiddos! We grownups joked that we'd be hearing horns honking in our sleep that night--it was loud!

Ryder and Harper headed for the highway patrol semi first. Harper was cautiously reaching for the string to honk the horn because she couldn't quite believe that she was allowed to!

We saw one of these swamp buggies at Myakka when we went with Grandma and Grandpa this year, so Ryder and Harper were excited to be able to climb on and pretend to drive one!

It won't be long and he can mow our lawn! ha!

Look at the size of those tires!

"No Cavity" Club

I finally got my act together and made appointments for both kiddos at a pediatric dentist office. I've been lazy and never felt much urgency to do so since we have Grann as our own personal hygienist. :) She urged me to find a dentist office where Ryder and Harper can get on a good preventive maintenance program, especially since Ryder has lost so many teeth now and may soon need sealants on his 6 year molars. I took Harper for her initial appointment today, and she LOVED it! She even asked me when we were leaving when she gets to come back again. The office is bright and colorful and the staff were amazing and really catered to Harper's likes. She gladly let Jen (the hygienist) clean her teeth and take "princess pictures" (a.k.a. x-rays) of her mouth. As "Princess" Dr. Elena counted Harper's teeth, she even named them after the many Disney princesses. Harper received a pink toothbrush, added her name to the "no cavity club" wall, received a token for a prize, and chose a purple balloon on our way out. I can't wait to take Ryder in a few weeks to see what he thinks!

I know she looks paralyzed by fear, but she's actually watching Finding Dory on the the ceiling-mounted television! She was mesmerized!
