We all enjoyed Legoland so much last summer that it was time to go back again! We went ahead and got a season's pass since we live close enough to make a day trip out of it. For this trip Andrew and I decided to splurge and spend one night in the Legoland Hotel so that we could have two days at the park and let the kiddos get their fill of all things Lego. :)
Our first stop was the double-decker carousel!

Off to Lego driving school! It took Harper a few minutes to figure out that she needed to press her foot down on the pedal and steer at the same time. She spent the first half of her lap stuck against the curb, with an employee helping her get back on track multiple times. Ryder was our cautious little driver! He knew exactly what to do and kept his car in the correct lane the whole time.
When their drive was complete, they each received a Lego driver's license. Ryder told us since he already got his license, he won't have to do it again when he's grown up! Andrew and I gently burst his bubble by telling him this was a "pretend" license, just like the pretend money in his cash register at home. I tucked them in my wallet though for safe keeping!
An afternoon storm rolled through, forcing the park to shut down the rides early. We headed to the hotel lobby to wait for our room to be ready, and Ryder and Harper happily entertained themselves in a sea of Legos.

The bunk beds were a hit. Ryder slept on top during the night, but they both enjoyed playing up there when they were awake.
Ryder cracked the code to get into the treasure chest by answering some questions on a short scavenger hunt. Inside were 2 small Lego sets, juice boxes, and some activity sheets.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but this butterfly is made completely out of Legos. There were several things in the room like this, along with a list of how much the guest will be charged if the Lego models disappear. Ha!

Harper was being sassy here. She enjoyed walking from the kids' side of the room to ours, bossing us around. Mommy, you stop coughing! Daddy, you stop taking pictures! Then she would strut back to her side of the room, grinning.
a pre-bedtime build
The Beetle Bounce: this one goes straight up and then slowly bounces you back down. The kids loved it and rode it once with Andrew and then with me.
Judging by the look on Ryder's face, he wasn't quite sure about the roller coaster at first! He ended up enjoying it and rode it twice!
When we opened our hotel room door in the morning, our Legoland newspaper had been delivered. I love the attention to detail at this place!
